Abstract

In the recent years there has been increasing interest in herbal therapy including its use for treatment of dermatologic disorders. In Germany, a regulatory authority known as "Commission E" performed an extensive review of common phytotherapeutic (1987-1995) agents indicating quality of evidence, clinical efficacy and therapeutic usefulness producing a "positive monograph" indicating agents supported by evidence and likely to be useful. This article explores the therapeutic use of several of these and other currently popular plants suitable for dermatologic indications; therapeutic hints including phytotherapeutic products and formulations are given and side effects, in particular toxic and allergic skin reactions, are discussed.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 15. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 31 October 2023.
All research outputs
#2,330,353
of 25,374,917 outputs
Outputs from Die Dermatologie
#16
of 689 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#3,806
of 70,088 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Die Dermatologie
#1
of 2 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 25,374,917 research outputs across all sources so far. Compared to these this one has done particularly well and is in the 90th percentile: it's in the top 10% of all research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric.
So far Altmetric has tracked 689 research outputs from this source. They receive a mean Attention Score of 3.4. This one has done particularly well, scoring higher than 97% of its peers.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 70,088 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one has done particularly well, scoring higher than 94% of its contemporaries.
We're also able to compare this research output to 2 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one. This one has scored higher than all of them
