It’s Open Access Week! A week when the scholarly community celebrate all the great things about making research open.
Here at Altmetric, we’re big advocates of making research as accessible and open to all as possible. By making research open academics can ensure that their work gets seen and read by as many people inside and outside the academic community as possible. Past Altmetric blog posts have included studies and guides on how by publishing your research Open Access you can garner increased citations and media coverage as well as the benefits of publishing open when promoting your research online.
This week, we’ll open up Altmetric’s own research processes with a short blog series that describes what we’ve been working on, as well as the state of OA in the field of altmetrics research. Here’s what we have coming up:
Tuesday: Altmetric Founder, Euan Adie will be telling us what he found out when analysing “How (and how often) is research mentioned in the news?”
Wednesday: Site Reliability Engineer, Alex Enchiaoaie will be discussing his research project, “The feels: sentiment analysis for altmetrics.”
Thursday: Director of Research and Education, Stacy Konkiel will explain why “The Top altmetrics research is impressively Open Access.”
