Do you use VIVO as your profiles system? The awesome team over at Symplectic have just released an upgrade which means you can now easily showcase all of the attention surrounding your researchers’ publications!
An open source semantic web application, VIVO was developed to be implemented at the institutional level to aid researcher profiling, collaboration and discovery.
The new Bootstrapped VIVO theme, which brings responsive design to public profiles, includes some exciting new integrations:
- Altmetric ‘Donut’ badges are now visible on all publication records. Altmetric for Institutions customers will be able to unlock the full record of Altmetric attention to enable users to see all of the mentions, shares and discussion relating to individual research publications.
- Direct access to publications with ReadCube’s enhanced PDF viewer makes it easy to annotate, access supplementary information and explore the references and figures in each article.
- Research outputs and articles stored on Figshare can now be integrated straight into the platform – meaning much less admin for you and your faculty!
Built using the popular responsive framework Bootstrap, this new VIVO theme (currently in beta), also includes a collaboration between Symplectic and Funnelback – demonstrating how VIVO can be integrated with existing university solutions to provide improved search and discovery capabilities.
