As the New Year kicks off we have some big projects underway in the Altmetric office, including the addition of new sources to our article details pages, and the development of some brilliant new features and products.
We begin the year with the exciting news that Altmetric data is now available on all PNAS articles! Details can be found via the ‘metrics’ tab near the top of each article. Clicking on the tab will reveal a summary of mentions of the article across news sites, blogs, social media and other online sources – which are visualised in the colourful donut icon. Users can click on the badge or “see more details” to explore the individual mentions from each source in detail.
Conferences coming up: stop by and say hello!
2013 saw a great response and growing interest in altmetrics from the research and scholarly publishing community as a whole. We want to continue that conversation this year – so watch out for members of our team on conference panels, exhibit booths, podcasts and webinars! As a start, we’ll be at the following conferences in January and February:
ALA Midwinter in Philadelphia (24th – 27th January)
Academic Publishing in Europe 2014 in Berlin (27th – 29th January)
The International Publication Planning Association Annual Meeting in San Diego (10th – 11th February)
Stop by and see us, or drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to find out more about what our tools can help you do.
