Abstract

Cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) is a macrocycle with ability to form the most stable supramolecular complexes in water ever reported for artificial receptor. Its use for design of advanced functional materials is however very limited as there is no example of fully reversible CB7 based supramolecular complex enabling repetitious dissociation / association controlled by external stimuli. We report the synthesis of a new ferrocene amino acid which forms with CB7 1:1 inclusion complex which is stable in submicromolar concentration at low pH but dissociates at high pH. This reversible process was used for sequential uptake and release of bispyridinium and antraquinone guests by CB7 which is controlled by adjusting pH of the solution.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 10. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 22 February 2017.
All research outputs
#5,042,335
of 34,447,360 outputs
Outputs from Chemistry - A European Journal
#2,675
of 29,599 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#74,838
of 466,364 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Chemistry - A European Journal
#62
of 543 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 34,447,360 research outputs across all sources so far. Compared to these this one has done well and is in the 85th percentile: it's in the top 25% of all research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric.
So far Altmetric has tracked 29,599 research outputs from this source. They receive a mean Attention Score of 4.1. This one has done particularly well, scoring higher than 90% of its peers.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 466,364 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one has done well, scoring higher than 83% of its contemporaries.
We're also able to compare this research output to 543 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one. This one has done well, scoring higher than 85% of its contemporaries.
