Abstract

Cancer therapeutics has been growing in an unprecedented fashion and has evolved rapidly in the past two decades. Specific gene mutation, protein dysfunction and dysregulation, intracellular signaling pathways, and immune modulation have been targeted. These therapeutic advances came largely because of improved understanding of the pathobiology of cancer at the genetic and molecular levels. This article addresses the need of novice nurses for cancer treatment-related information and evidence-based nursing care of patients diagnosed with cancer while undergoing novel and breakthrough therapeutics.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 2. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 03 June 2017.
All research outputs
#23,972,162
of 34,411,289 outputs
Outputs from Nursing Clinics of North America
#374
of 570 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#234,690
of 353,015 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Nursing Clinics of North America
#6
of 7 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 34,411,289 research outputs across all sources so far. This one is in the 29th percentile – i.e., 29% of other outputs scored the same or lower than it.
So far Altmetric has tracked 570 research outputs from this source. They typically receive a little more attention than average, with a mean Attention Score of 5.1. This one is in the 33rd percentile – i.e., 33% of its peers scored the same or lower than it.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 353,015 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one is in the 32nd percentile – i.e., 32% of its contemporaries scored the same or lower than it.
We're also able to compare this research output to 7 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one.
