Abstract

Carbon dots (CDs) combined with nanomaterial-based quencher has created an innovative way for designing promising sensors. Herein, a novel fluorescent sensing platform was designed for sensitive detection of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs). The preparation of CDs was based on one-step hydrothermal reaction of 3-aminobenzeneboronic acid. The fluorescence of CDs can be quenched by manganese dioxide (MnO2) nanosheets via the Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET). In the presence of butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and acetylthiocholine, the enzymatic hydrolysate (thiocholine) can efficiently trigger the decomposition of MnO2 nanosheets, resulting in the recovery of CDs fluorescence. OPs as inhibitors for BChE activity can prevent the generation of thiocholine and decomposition of MnO2 nanosheets, accompanying the fluorescence "turn-off" of the system. So the BChE-ATCh-MnO2-CDs system can be utilized to detect OPs quantitatively based on the fluorescence turn "on-off". Under the optimum conditions, the present FRET-based approach can detect paraoxon ranging from 0.05 to 5 ng mL-1 with a detection limit of 0.015 ng mL-1. Meanwhile, the present strategy also showed visual color change in a concentration-dependent manner. Thus, the proposed assay can potentially be a candidate for OPs detection.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 4. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 12 November 2021.
All research outputs
#10,156,481
of 33,351,181 outputs
Outputs from Analytical Chemistry
#12,135
of 35,153 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#152,398
of 482,788 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Analytical Chemistry
#129
of 363 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 33,351,181 research outputs across all sources so far. This one has received more attention than most of these and is in the 68th percentile.
So far Altmetric has tracked 35,153 research outputs from this source. They typically receive a little more attention than average, with a mean Attention Score of 5.3. This one has gotten more attention than average, scoring higher than 63% of its peers.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 482,788 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one has gotten more attention than average, scoring higher than 67% of its contemporaries.
We're also able to compare this research output to 363 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one. This one has gotten more attention than average, scoring higher than 62% of its contemporaries.
