@FJ_Scientist For transcription factors - they bind along the minor (e.g. GATA1) or major groove (Oct1) of DNA rather than pairing with bases per se like RNA would. So there is no requirement for unwinding DNA to bind. see: https://t.co/oLE1EpBUTT
