The Institute for Health Technology Assessment and Research (IETSI) is the decentralized body of the Social Health Insurance — EsSalud, responsible for the evaluation of health technologies for their incorporation, elimination, use or change in the institution; and in turn is in charge of proposing the standards and strategies for scientific technological innovation; in addition to promoting and regulating scientific research in the field of health; of developing and approving clinical practice guidelines in the institution and of implementing the pharmacovigilance and technovigilance system.
