Abstract

to investigate the process of implementing advance directives in palliative care teams in southern Brazil. an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach conducted with 51 professionals from seven palliative care teams from December 2018 to April 2019. Data were collected through semi-structured online interviews and submitted to discursive textual analysis. the implementation process starts on approach of the advance directives with patients, so that their wishes and desires are the guiding axis for planning care and conduct. the palliative philosophy is important with regard to advance directives, due to the preparation of these professionals in the search for dignity, quality of life and respect for patient autonomy, in addition to reducing suffering and offering dignified death, based on the understanding of human finitude as a natural process that belongs to life.

Attention Score in Context

Attention Score in Context

This research output has an Altmetric Attention Score of 12. This is our high-level measure of the quality and quantity of online attention that it has received. This Attention Score, as well as the ranking and number of research outputs shown below, was calculated when the research output was last mentioned on 30 December 2025.
All research outputs
#3,898,024
of 33,114,564 outputs
Outputs from Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem
#16
of 782 outputs
Outputs of similar age
#71,238
of 514,580 outputs
Outputs of similar age from Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem
#3
of 136 outputs
Altmetric has tracked 33,114,564 research outputs across all sources so far. Compared to these this one has done well and is in the 88th percentile: it's in the top 25% of all research outputs ever tracked by Altmetric.
So far Altmetric has tracked 782 research outputs from this source. They receive a mean Attention Score of 2.2. This one has done particularly well, scoring higher than 97% of its peers.
Older research outputs will score higher simply because they've had more time to accumulate mentions. To account for age we can compare this Altmetric Attention Score to the 514,580 tracked outputs that were published within six weeks on either side of this one in any source. This one has done well, scoring higher than 86% of its contemporaries.
We're also able to compare this research output to 136 others from the same source and published within six weeks on either side of this one. This one has done particularly well, scoring higher than 97% of its contemporaries.
