To recap, using neuron scWGS Evrony et al. found a transduction-carrying somatic L1 insertion in the cortex of an individual in 2015. The transduction identifed a source (donor) L1 located at chr13q12.3 in the human reference genome. https://t.co/jyl94vXk
There are now 3 rock-solid somatic L1 insertions recovered by scWGS in human neurons, and one in macaque. All in multiple cells, with 13-20bp TSDs, long 3' polyA tracts, and transductions traced to polymorphic source L1 alleles. 9/n https://t.co/FdqV3NiSon
The L1 insertion was found by scWGS and validated 5' to 3' by capillary sequencing. This makes it the third such event to be reported, together with two from Evrony et al.: https://t.co/khLfq501yn (there are also events found by us and the Gage lab by c
