@sgtpppr84 Alan, I am not your enemy. I don't want to see kids wearing masks either. I fee like there is good evidence N95s have protected HCW's- sure made me more comfortable seeing new patients daily. I found this study particularly enlightening https://
Beautiful data in @NEJM for efficacy of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines at @UTSWNews Medical Center Similar to JAMA paper showing the impact of masks @MassGenBrigham (https://t.co/3cBC5wq47R) @DLBHATTMD Masks, vaccines, rapid testing next? @michaelmina_lab https:

@Kevin_McKernan @boodad12 Since then, there have been better studies which show clear benefit. See: https://t.co/5Ch4URxbyd and https://t.co/tw6GnnKRlP
@WappieNederland @Wim04789402 Nogmaals: het is gewoon wetenschappelijk bewezen dat het dragen van mondkapjes besmettingen kan voorkomen. Wat je zegt klopt niet. https://t.co/jl8ZJfaSo9
@annstrikje Wel bewezen. https://t.co/jl8ZJfaSo9
@JayGall12232320 @natemann133 @dbremer_pxp Hey Jay, Here is a peer reviewed article from JAMA (a very respected source) outlining the drop in positivity in healthcare workers early on in the pandemic due to increased mask wearing. https://t.co/3POgBY041k
@McGiff @educationgovuk @DHSCgovuk @ChildrensComm @GavinWilliamson @BorisJohnson Just take a look at what the kids themselves are saying. They understand the need for masks. Better than you do
@Chrisdebois1 @UsforThemUK @GavinWilliamson Did God forget to give you a brain?
@TigressLoves @UsforThemUK @GavinWilliamson Is that the best you can do? The Daily Expose? A comic for drum banging idiots
@Dave61164 @UsforThemUK @GavinWilliamson I bet they’ve asked their mates to bring masks for them because their stupid parent won’t let them.
@Captain44618202 Idiot
@smith_rob2 @Milldog13 @annscott59 @GregAbbott_TX Here is an article linked by the CDC specifically on the effectiveness of a universal mask wearing. Do you have any scientific article to back your claim that it doesn’t matter? https://t.co/M76aS2sv8W
@Christi46847375 Here you are, lots of them
@honbcfc @BottomleyFiona @blackswan_t2 Where’s the scientific evidence for your statement? In the meantime plenty of scientific evidence to support the use of masks..... https://t.co/S8iRxmpArg

@samanthaagodwin @nugent_peter @nay_sue1 @MonicaGandhi9 @NEJM This was the “may” and “hypothesize” call for further study. The Boston hospital study admitted that it could not exclude confounding variables, and simply asserted that RCTs were not feasible.

@TeamBaDJane @rosielillie7 @pcrclaims Yes, as COVID-19 is a novovirus, eg, new, they didn’t know how it was transmitted, and also knew there weren’t enough masks for everyone, so needed medics to get them first. Then they realised it is mainly airborne. So

The study tracked healthcare workers during a brief period of time during the initial epidemic in spring 2020. They noted a decline in positivity that preceded a decline in the community & attributed that to masks, despite acknowledging other factors.

@ElijahSchaffer They used fake data: https://t.co/emPuFoThXs It's not even a study. It's an article.

There are really smart people who know masks work. Bill Hanage is one of them. Don't listen to randos on the internet who think they have the magic chart that proves Bill wrong. They don't.
@BillHanage while that sort of argument is a staple of the scientifically illiterate anti-masker arguments, I don’t like that JAMA study: https://t.co/w605nYLNvP https://t.co/BBvtwgJXMm my unprofessional opinion is that these are stronger: https://t.co/0V
Actually I think they do https://t.co/SOfQdJOEyi
