Altmetrics for journal editors: engagement, influence and authors
30 March 2016
Altmetrics, or alternative metrics, are increasingly being adopted by publishers, funders and institutions as a new way of monitoring and reporting on the online activity surrounding published research. In this webinar, we’ll explore the opportunities that these metrics offer for journal editors – including an introduction to how the data are collected and should be interpreted.
We’ll hear from guest speakers who will share their own experience of using altmetrics to increase the visibility of their journal online, and provide some top tips for how you can start using altmetrics at your journal.
Hosted by Phill Jones, Head of Publisher Outreach at Digital Science, confirmed guest speakers include:
- Danielle Padula, Community Engagement, Scholastica
- Paul Trevorrow, Executive Journals Editor, Wiley
- Chris Holmes, Managing Editor, Journal of Biblical Literature
