The Evolving Value(s) of a University Press: How new insights can shape organizational identity
3:30 - 4:30 PM BST
28 July 2020
What values do you hold as a University Press? How are those values expressed in the work that you do and in the outcomes you deliver to your supporting institutions and the scholars you engage with?
This session will explore how these elements are shifting and evolving within the changing research environment. Expert guest speakers will share their own thoughts and experience, and consider how metrics and other indicators can help them demonstrate and align their external activities with the values they seek to offer.
Joining us on the webinar will be:
- Lanell White, Director, Sales, Marketing, and Outreach, and Charles Watkinson, Director, University of Michigan Press
- Niko Pfund, President and Publisher and Jocelyn Cordova, Director of Publicity and Trade Marketing, Oxford University Press
- Stacy Konkiel, Director of Research Relations, Altmetric
How such data can be used to evidence the value of a Press’s work will also be examined, as we consider how organizations can ensure they are staying true to their mission and remain fit for the future.
