26 February – London, UK – Altmetric welcomes the news of the release of the draft NISO Data Quality Code of Conduct for altmetrics providers. The publication of the proposed guidelines, the outcome of a combined effort from a cross-disciplinary team of experts, marks a milestone in the adoption of altmetrics amongst providers and consumers of scholarly content.
Altmetric’s Founder Euan Adie was closely involved with the working group that contributed to the draft recommendations.
Speaking on its release, Euan said, “We’ve been pleased to be actively involved with the development of these proposed standards from day one, and have already worked to ensure that our data and reporting complies with its requirements. We place great importance in data quality and are fully committed to the implementation of these guidelines, which we believe will be valuable for authors, institutions, publishers and other users of our data.”
