Although under the UCM key variables (those more important for the task) are lower in variability. Not sure how that fits with your interpretation. My reading of this would be that key variables need to be more consistent to creat the desired outcome. Sens

@tsibthorpe_ @skillacq @DCGreyMattersUK @ben__franks1 Yes, "functional" is used quite loosely. The way I like to think of it is in terms of the UCM hypothesis. Functional=potentially good variability that allows adaptation, motor synergies. Non functional
