The cliffs are made of the Lovejoy basalts that erupted 15.4Ma and flowed ~150mi (!!) from NE CA near present day Susanville all the way to the Sacramento Valley. Magma source is likely mantle plume related to Columbia River Basalts (CRB’s). https://t.co/
