Interesting thread on sample sizes at conferences. For me conferences are the places to also find out what didn't work. Never ran a high N exp. without a small N pilot suggesting it would work

So, let's conclude about this. Yes, some people use small N with 1000's of trials per sub (e.g. https://t.co/mvGIOzX0Fu). This is another possibility. But let's not use that as an excuse to run underpowered experiments. You then need 1000's of trials.... R
