I interviewed Perfumer Maurice Roucel for Perfumer & Flavorist back in the day. Roucel told me that he can't smell Galaxolide (a synthetic musk) unless it's dosed at .01%. Turns out that some men are anosmic to musk (yes, it's gender based). https://t.
