In intubated patients we typically prone for at >12-16 hours per day. But is this “dose” of proning achievable in awake patients? Notably in an n=25 study of awake proning in COVID, many patients didn’t tolerate proning for more than a few hours. htt

@dereckwpaul And also to encourage trying proning - for comfort and outcomes. In my experience some feel SO much better, some cannot tolerate it - but always worth trying. https://t.co/7chioYnSLo

A “prospective, single-center, before-after study” of 24 patients....... is the bar for publication in a high impact journal being lowered because of #COVID19 ? https://t.co/phHyRpgTJU
A small study on Prone Positioning of Nonintubated ptnts w/ #C19 shows 63% tolerated it for > 3 hrs but oxygenation in PP only increased in 25% and was not sustained in half of those after resupination. This is roughly in line with other study results.
